Valentine Cookie Jar

Hi everyone! Today I have a mini cookie jar to show you.

I bought a set of these Ball brand jars at the grocery store (Giant)...four jars for $4.29. Hey, that's just a little over $1 a jar!! I decorated all four of them so my youngest daughter can give them out. The stamp is from the SASI Love is Sweet set. The Enchanting DP and gingham ribbon are also from Taylored Expressions. The jars are filled with heart-shaped sugar cookies.

I cut a piece of 1.5" x 12" textured red CS, wrapped it around the jar, and taped the edges down with sticky tape. The edges didn't quite meet so I punched out a scallop circle from the DP and layered that over the red CS. Next, I wrapped some of the red gingham ribbon around the entire jar. The last step was to add the stamped candy box from the Love is Sweet set, which is popped up on Dimensionals.

For the top o f the jar, I cut out a circle in the DP with one of my circle Spellbinders dies and then added a second candy box. This candy box is also up on Dimensionals.

I made the jar to go with a card I made last month. Here's the set.

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Happy "Heart" Day!

Remember a couple of months back when I created this Cupcake Kit? Well, I thought for this post I would actually MAKE the mini cupcakes rather than just give the dry ingredients as a gift. I made the Origami Box that was featured for one of the Technique Lover's Challenges on Splitcoaststampers a couple of weeks back. I added my own little insert to hold the cupcakes inside.

I've included a mini-tutorial for how I created the cupcake insert. The directions for the Origami Box can be found by following the link above.
Cupcake Insert
1. Start by cutting a 5" square piece of cardstock.

2. Score at 1/2" on all four sides.

3. After making the score lines, punch out 5 circles from scrap paper using the 1 3/8" circle punch from Stampin' Up. Arrange these circles on the 5" square piece of cardstock (inside the score lines) for spacing.

4. Once you are happy with how they are spaced, use temporary adhesive to hold them in place while you trace them.

5. Remove the scrap circles and then use the 1 3/8" circle punch to punch out the four corner circles using the traced circles as your guide.

6. Cut on ONE of the 1/2" score lines at each corner so that you can fold them and attach the "tab" behind the neighboring side. Attach your sentiment circle over the center traced circle. NOTE: If you happen to cut out the little squares at each corner, it's okay! The insert will still stand in the box, just not alone. Having the little tabs and connecting them to the neighboring sides just reinforces the insert stand.

7. Place insert inside box and add mini cupcakes!
I have a mini muffin pan that makes 12 mini cupcakes at a time. . .that's enough mini cupcakes for 3 of these gift boxes! The origami box doesn't take too much time to make. . .it's the embellishing of the box! :) You could be working on your boxes while your muffins are baking! I used the Love Is Sweet set for the image on the front of the box, and the Tag Treats set for the sentiment inside. You can make the box as decorated or as plain as you like. The recipient will be just tickled with the mini sweetness that's inside! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Love Is Sweet, Tag Treats (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Pure Poppy (PTI); Paper- Valentine Key Ingredients, Choice Snow White cardstock (Taylored Expressions), brown and rose cardstock (DCWV); Accessories- Copic markers, 1 3/8" circle punch, scallop border punch, scallop circle punch (SU), heart brads, grosgrain ribbon from Valentine Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions), Scallop Heart and Plain Heart Nestabilities (Spellbinders).

Sweets Anyone??

Since Valentine's Day is fast approaching, sweets are on the mind!  Well, let SASI stamps satisfy that sweet tooth!  I have a box of chocolates card & treat filled with chocolates to share with you!!  I used Love is Sweet for this cute cuppie ensemble as well as some cardstock (scallop mat & dp) from the Valentine's key ingredients.  The red used on the card & and favor box is blush red dark from the Christmas key ingredients, as well as the red glimmer ribbon.

For the inside of the box, I crimped & shredded some SU! cameo coral cardstock for filler in the favor box and inside are 2 dark chocolate Lindt Lindor truffles.  YUM

Hearts Galore!

Hi All! I know you've already been enabled with all kinds of adorable creations from the fabulously talented Baker's Dozen but I thought I would try a bit more *wink*! I am seriously in LOVE with all the new stamps that are now available at Taylored Expressions. I decided to go with the "Year of Sweets 1" and the "Love is Sweet" set for the sentiment. The idea for this project was inspired by a heart cookie container I made for the release. I used my heart nesties again for this project along with some vellum. I hand drew the broken heart edges and maneuvered the vellum so it would follow the creases. I think next time I will try and score them first. I guess it didn't turn out so bad for my first attempt. Each heart side is filled with candy and tied with some yummy ribbon. The paper and ribbon are from the new Valentine's Day Key Ingredients. Well, that's all I have for you today but make sure to check back for some more great card and project ideas.
Have a great day,
