Hi everyone, Karen Giron here. Can you believe it's already time for the 10th challenge of the day? I'm so excited to bring you our next challenge, and I do hope you'll join me! Time to get those creative juices flowing once more with a sketch!






What do you need to do to participate?

CHALLENGE: Make a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and let your creativity flow!

KEYWORD: Upload your creation to your blog or online gallery (or both). If you’re uploading to online galleries, use the keyword TEBBKG. Then come back to this challenge and leave a comment with a direct link to your creation! In order to be eligible for the prizes, you must leave a comment with a link to your card by midnight PST Wednesday, September 9th.

PRIZE: I will choose my favorite creation from among all the participants and mail you the card I created for this challenge along with a $10.00 gift certificate to the TE Store! Woohoo!!

For my card, I stamped the little Cuppie and cake image in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copic Markers. I used my square Nestabilities to cut out the image and scallops and then added some fun ribbon to dress up the card just a bit. It is a very simple, yet fun card!

Little Notes

Hi everyone - it's Karen here. Back to school is BIG news here in the Giron house and my oldest just started her first day of first grade yesterday {sniff}. She is SO excited to eat at school everyday and so I thought I would make some fun little notes to stick in her lunch box on days she needs a little encouragement, or just to let her know I'm thinking about her. She's my little stamping buddy and every time I get new stamps, she is just as excited as I am to ink them up, so I'm taking her favorite Cuppie images and putting them on 3x3 note cards.

I stamped each image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with Copic Markers - I chose bold, bright colors because those tend to be the colors she chooses to make cards with and I know she'll love them. I added some Christmas Red Stickles to the tops of each cuppie to add some sparkly fun. I cut out the images with Circle Nestabilities and added the Scallop accent and then popped them up with dimensionals. I love this simple way to make my daughter's day special!

Sweet Friend Favor Boxes

My daughter's
4th birthday
is coming
up at the end
of January,
so I started
thinking about
what she could
give to her
little friends
to thank
them for the
presents she
receives.

Since her
birthstone is a garnet, I thought I'd make red-themed gifts to go with her birthstone.

These square self-closing favor boxes are available at Taylored Expressions. The one I used here is Blush Red Dark. Taylor has a HUGE selection of boxes and colors that you can see HERE. They're awesome little boxes...pre-cut, scored and ready to go. I added some Daisy D's polka dot DP to the box when it was laying flat on the table, added some sticky tape to the inside tab of the box, folded it up, and filled the box with some cherry-flavored Swedish Fish candy (yum!!).

I stamped the Sweet Friend sentiment from the SASI Sweet Celebration set onto white CS, cut it out, punched the flag end by using a square punch on an angle, and then sponged Riding Hood Red ink around the edges. I glued down the left edge of the sentiment with more sticky tape and then the right side is glued down with some Dimensionals to give it a little curve.

The adhesive bling cherries are also available at Taylored Expressions! I thought the blingy red was kinda like the garnet birthstone and the candy inside is cherry-flavored. I also just like cherries on cards or gifts...I think they look friendly and fun. {smile}

SASI Cupcake Box

You all know how much I love Dots Cupcakes, right? Lately it seems like I make a trip there at least once a week to get my "fix" (gosh... I totally sound like an addict)! lol. Every time I go there I think about making a cute little box to hold the yummy cupcake. I was there the other day so I bought an extra cupcake and started off on my quest to create a box. The box was super easy to make using my Scor Pal. I didn't have a chance to photograph step by step, but I can walk you though it. The bottom of the box was created using a full 12x12 sheet of patterned paper. I scored at 4" on each side. Then when you make one cut on each of the four corners, you can fold the box together and adhere it with sticky tape. The lid for the box uses an 8 1/4" square piece of patterned paper. I scored at 2" on each side. I used the Stampin' Up scalloped border punch all the way around the square. Once again, make a cut on each of the four corners and the lid will fold together easily. Before adhering the lid together, I centered a Spellbinders die on the lid and sent it through my Cuttlebug. I adhered transparency over the circle for a little peek-a-boo cupcake window. I also created an insert inside the box to better display the cupcake. The ribbon is May Arts and I used a cupcake from the Sweet Celebration set on the tag. That's it from me today! I'm off to eat this cupcake because it has now served its purpose for the photograph and needs to serve its other purpose of making me happy! :) Thanks for stopping by today!

SASI Cupcake Kit

Have you ever needed a little gift for someone that was quick and easy to put together and just plain cute? I thought this would make a cute little birthday gift. . .especially for someone who likes to bake. It's a little acrylic paint can filled with the dry ingredients and recipe to make mini cupcakes!


I filled the can with a Jiffy muffin mix because they're small enough to fit in the paint can. I added some powdered sugar (for the icing), mini baking cups, pink sugar sprinkles and a recipe card. All the recipient would need is a mini cupcake pan and the "wet" ingredients!


The paint can was quick and easy to decorate. I cut a 2.5"x12" piece of patterned paper to wrap around the can. I used my Coluzzle to cut a circle for the top of the can. Then I stamped and colored my focal piece, cut it out with oval Nestabilities and attached it to the can with ribbon and adhesive. Everything about this gift is little and cute. . .perfect for the sentiment "It's your birthday. . .eat something cute!"
