Seasons of Tree

I love trees… so when I saw Jami’s challenge to use the tree image from Taylor’s Frightful Night set, I wanted to make something. Since I am a card type of girl, that’s what I did.
I know, I know… this is not very original since Michelle Zindorf has already perfected this technique to the max… but I wanted to give it a try…

Stamps: Frightful Night (Taylored Expressions- Stamp a Sweet Impression)... Baroque Motifs and Sweet Serendipity (SU!)…
Paper: Glossy White, Not Quite Navy, Real Red (SU!)…
Ink: Black StazOn… Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy (SU!)…
Access: red organdy ribbon (misc), Silver Stickles (Ranger Ink), white gel pen…
Tools: circle punch for moon mask, fern punch (Martha Stewart), sponge daubers, brayer, Tiny Tags die (Cuttlebug-Provo Craft)…

First I stamped the tree with Black StazOn… punched the moon mask and tore a piece of paper for the grass mask... (sorry but the picture doesn't show Not Quite Navy)

Next I sponged and brayered the colors on… first Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, then Night of Navy around the edges…

Stamped the swirl image, and using a white gel pen, I made the dots… I also had to use my Not Quite Navy Marker to draw in the image that didn’t stamp properly…

Matted the main image on the square cards… then on the card base…
Next I put silver stickles on the tree and ground...

Finally I added the greeting, the ribbon, and the punched fern branches…

My second card was made with the same technique, but this time I wanted to make a Fall/Halloween-ish card. I used more images from the set and different colors (Old Olive, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Black StazOn). The paper, ribbon, and brads are from the Halloween Key Ingredients pack.

Thanks for looking!
